March 8 – A History of Women's Strength and Struggle
Every year on March 8, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world. This date is not only a day of love and appreciation but also a powerful symbol of a struggle that has lasted for over a century. But how did March 8 come into being?
How Did the Flame of Struggle Ignite?
International Women’s Day was first inspired by protests in 1908, when female textile workers in New York marched for better working conditions and equal rights. In 1910, at the International Socialist Women's Conference in Copenhagen, Clara Zetkin proposed making March 8 an international day of recognition. Thus, March 8 became a symbol of the women’s rights movement.
The Role of Women in the World
Over time, this day has become an occasion to celebrate women's accomplishments in education, science, politics, arts, and other fields. Women are not only the backbone of families but also devoted souls who inspire generations with knowledge and love, shaping the very fabric of society.
